El llac de Ginebra, raramament conegut en català com a Llac Léman pel Francès Le Léman , és un llac de l'Europa Occidental. El seu nom Francès ens ha arribat derivat de la seva denominació llatina: Lacus Lemannus. Lemannus ve de l'antic Grec Liménos Límnē, que vol dir "el llac del port". A l'edat mitjana se'l coneixia com a Lacus Losanetes i més tard Lac de Lausanne, per la ciutat de Lausanne. Més tard, amb la puixança de Ginebra, se'l va començar a denominar com a Llac de Ginebra, excepte en Francès on el nom de Léman és més comú.
