Badalona és una ciutat i municipi de la comarca del Barcelonès. El seu terme està situat entre la serralada de Marina i la costa marítima, a la riba esquerra del riu Besòs, i limita amb la comarca del Maresme i els dos vallesos. Forma part de l'Àrea Metropolitana de Barcelona, i és el municipi més gran i poblat de la regió anomenada Barcelonès Nord o Baix Besòs. Amb aproximadament uns 220.000 habitants, actualment és la quarta ciutat de Catalunya en població.
