El Museu d'Història de Barcelona o Museu d'Història de la Ciutat és un museu de ciutat que conserva, estudia, documenta, divulga i exposa el patrimoni històric i la història de Barcelona des dels orígens fins al present. Depèn de l'Ajuntament de Barcelona a través de l'Institut de Cultura de Barcelona . Agrupa diversos centres patrimonials rellevants per a la història de Barcelona distribuïts pels barris i districtes de la ciutat. Té la seu central a la casa Padellàs, un dels edificis que formen el conjunt monumental de la plaça del Rei, a l'anomenat barri Gòtic. Va ser inaugurat el 14 d'abril de l'any 1943. El seu impulsor i primer director fou l'historiador Agustí Duran i Sanpere.
