El Puig de Monti-sion està situat al terme de Porreres, té una altitud de 250 m i al cim existeix un santuari dedicat a la Mare de Déu de Monti-sion.
El segle xiv ja existia una ermita que amb el temps ha estat ampliada i s'hi han construït edificis annexos. L'any 1498 començà la construcció de l'església actual. Des del segle xv fins al xix va funcionar una escola eclesiàstica.
