Serra Nevada és un massís muntanyós pertanyent al conjunt de les Bètiques, concretament als sistemes Penibètics. Està situada majoritàriament a la Província de Granada i, a la part més oriental, s'estén per la Província d'Almeria a la Regió d'Andalusia, Espanya. És el massís muntanyós de més altitud de tota l'Europa occidental, després dels Alps. La seva altitud màxima s'assoleix al pic Mulhacén, de 3.482 metres sobre el nivell del mar. El 1986 va ser declarada Reserva de la Biosfera per la UNESCO i el 1999 gran part del seu territori va ser declarat Parc nacional pels seus valors botànics, paisatgístics i naturals.
