Els Països Catalans són els territoris de cultura catalana on la llengua autòctona és el català, o bé els territoris que formen part d'una unitat geogràfica, històrica, cultural i lingüística de predomini català. Són també els territoris on viuen o han viscut els catalans.
Aquests territoris, amb una superfície total de 70.520 km², es troben a la zona meridional de l'Europa Occidental, concretament la zona oriental de la península Ibèrica i a diverses illes banyades per la mar Mediterrània . Els seus límits són l'estany de Salses i la serra de les Corberes al nord; la ciutat de l'Alguer a l'est; la plana d'Utiel a l'oest; i el baix Segura al sud.
