El Barcarès , antigament Port de Sant Llorenç, és un poble de 4.037 habitants el 2013, cap de la comuna del mateix nom, de la comarca del Rosselló, a la Catalunya del Nord.Està situat al nord de la vall de l'Aglí, al nord-est de Perpinyà, al nord de Torrelles de la Salanca, a la zona nord-oriental de la comarca, ran de la Mar Mediterrània i al nord de l'Aglí. Ès a la subcomarca de la Salanca, antigament zona d'aiguamolls, d'on ve el nom de Salanca, a la plana existent al nord del riu esmentat.
