Òpol i Perellós és una comuna de 1.042 habitants, de la comarca del Rosselló, a la Catalunya del Nord, formada el 1972 per agregació de les antigues comunes independents d'Òpol i de Perellós . Es parlava occità fins al segle xix al vilatge de Perellós, ara abandonat i en ruïnes. Òpol tingué consideració de vila reial mentre es mantingué a l'altiplà, al costat septentrional del castell, quan rebé el nom de Salvaterra.
