L'Eta és un puig situat al sud de Tessàlia, a la part sud de la Ftiòtida i Fòcida septentrional, un ramal sud-oriental de la serralada del Pindos. El seu punt més alt fa 2.152 metres. A l'est del Puig Eta hi ha el Puig Cal·lídrom , de 1.399 metres d'altitud, a la part nord del qual hi ha el famós pas de les Termòpiles. El seu nom, en grec modern, era Katavóthra fins que se li tornà la designació antiga. El puig Patriótiko , més a l'oest, té més altura.
