Cividale del Friuli és un municipi italià, dins de la província d'Udine. L'any 2007 tenia 11.587 habitants. Limita amb els municipis de Corno di Rosazzo, Moimacco, Premariacco, Prepotto, San Pietro al Natisone i Torreano.
Fou fundada el 50 aC per Juli Cèsar amb el nom de Forum Julii, de la qual va derivar el nom de Friül. S'hi ha trobat restes del paleolític i neolític a les proximitats de la ciutat. S'hi ha trobat abundants testimoniatges de l'edat de ferro i de la cultura paleovèneta, sobre la qual es va imposar la civilització cèltica a partir del segle iv aC.
