Aquesta capella del segle XVI va ser fundada pel bisbe de Lamego, D. Manuel de Noronha.
A la façana exterior, a l'angle esquerre, es pot veure l'escut d'aquest bisbe .
Es tracta d'una església petita, però al seu altar s'hi amaga un dels tresors de Portugal : una estàtua de l'Esperit Sant del segle XVIII, d'autor desconegut. A banda i banda hi ha dos retaules barrocs més, que emfatitzen el costat de l'Evangeli. També són destacables el púlpit , recobert de daurat, i les rajoles del segle XVII que recorren les parets.
