Großraming ligger i den til Traunviertel hørende Oberöstrigske Ennstal og bliver gennemstrømmet af Enns. Udbredelsen strækker sig fra nord til syd 20,3 km, fra vest til øst 12 km. 70,9 % af arealet er skovklædt, 23 % anvendes landbrugsmæssigt. Bjergene i vest er Reichraminger Hintergebirge, bjergene østlig regnes oftest allerede til Ybbstaler Alperne. Lokalt betragter man højderne på begge sider af Enns som Enns- og Steyrtaler foralper og Enns- og Steyrtaler Flyschbjerge. Sidstnævnte højland strækker sig over Laussatal og Spadenberg ved byen Großraming helt ned til Enns, mens skiferstenen nedadgående stadig hører til de større grupper af kalkforalper. Mod øst strækker kommunen sig til Feichteck, sydligt dybt ind i Hintergebirge, ved Almkogel, Hochkogel og Fahrenberg.
