Holzgau er en kommune med 373 indbyggere i distriktet Reutte i Tirol. Kommunen ligger i retskredsen Reutte. Højlandsbyen Holzgau ligger i Lechtal på aflejringskeglen af Höhenbach. Lechtal ligger i en højde af omkring 1100 meter. Mod syd stiger kommuneområdet op til Lechtaler Alperne. Den højeste top er Griestaler Spitze med 2622 meter. Mod nord danner hovedkæden af Allgäuer Alperne med Krottenkopf som det højeste punkt grænsen til Tyskland.
