Siden 1973 er dette område offentligt fælleseje. Centralt står et neorenæssance-slot fra 1876, hvor der lige nu drives en restaurant. Slottet blev bygget af Gustaaf Moreels, en grandnephew til Vital Moreels, som grundlagde Sankt Arnoldusparken i Tiegem. Begge blev formuende som importører og distributører af de berømte Guano gødningsstoffer (seafarer afføring fra Peru). Området indeholder ældre park- og skovkanter med bl.a. lind, bøgetræ, sommereg, kastanje, hvid kastanje og hækbeplantning. I busklaget findes der snebær, ribso, kristtorn, taks og rhododendron. I urtelaget finder du skovanemone, sneklokke, mælkebøtte og lysplettet skovviola.
