Iøjnefaldende farverige murstensbygning ved begyndelsen af Stationsgade, opført af byen mellem 1895 og 1899 som fredsret. På denne placering lå en af de ældste bygninger i byen. I det 18. århundrede blev den beboet og restaureret af kornhandler Fruytinck, som solgte bygningen til byen i 1806 for at huse underprefekturet. Derefter blev den udlejet og beboet af baron d’Exaerde. Fra 1831 fungerede den som nationalgarde kaserne.
