Det lille spanske Tolhus var engang indgangen til en solid fæstning. Dette vogtede den gamle sluse ved Plassendale. Venterum for spanske soldater; bolig for kommandanten; tolke- kontor; kro; hus for sasmestrene; en sidste anløbsplads for gamle indre skippere: det lille monument ved vandkanten har meget at fortælle. I dag er det stop for cykler, gåture og sejlture, for store og små eventyrere med let sult eller stor tørst. Fire hundrede år med sluser, fæstninger, kanonbrag, skibsfart, beboere og deres historier har givet det en plads ved vandet. Du kan besøge det indendørs eller på den store terrasse. Der udlejes også kajakker, som du kan bruge til at udforske kanalen.
