Centrum af landsbyen stammer fra en bosættelse fra den mellemste bronzealder og en senere romersk gård. Men den moderne landsby Niederlenz nævnes først i 924 som de Lencis. I 1261-64 blev den nævnt som Nider-Lenz. De høje retter blev holdt af Schloss Lenzburg indtil 1433, da disse rettigheder, sammen med rettighederne til lav ret, blev købt af Bern. Senere blev rettighederne til lav ret tilbageført til de fire landsbyer Niederlenz, Hunzenschwil, Rupperswil og Staufen. I 1480 blev landsbyen inkorporeret med en lokal regering. Landsbyens mølle blev bygget før 1461 og blev pantsat af Hans Heinrich af Rinach og derefter solgt i 1486 til Hans von Hallwyl. Den var i besiddelse af Kull-familien i generationer.
Det var oprindeligt en del af Staufberg sogn. Landsbyen fik sin egen kirke i 1949 og blev i 1990 sit eget sogn.
