Stedet ligger i en trekant mellem Hannover, Braunschweig og Wolfsburg. Til bykommunen Gifhorn er der cirka ti kilometer. På kommunens område, øst for byen Leiferde, ligger landskabsbeskyttelsesområdet Viehmoor.
Leiferde-området strækker sig over en istidsduneformation mellem Aller- og Oker-floddalen. Af denne grund er der flere små højder og sumpede moseområder.
