Gangelt er en kommune i den tyske delstat Nordrhein-Westfalen, beliggende i Kreis Heinsberg. Kommunen har 12.733 indbyggere på et areal af 48,73 km². Byen har 2.595 indbyggere.
Gangelt blev første gang nævnt skriftligt i 828. Oprindeligt et kronbesiddelse, kom det senere til Herred Heinsberg. Indtil den franske tid dannede Gangelt sammen med Waldfeucht og Millen en administrativ enhed under skiftende Gelder, Heinsberg, Limburg og fra 1378 under Brabants styre. Fra 1499 faldt Gangelt endeligt under Hertugdømmet Jülich.
