Seitenroda er en kommune i syd for Thüringens Saale-Holzland-kreds og en del af forvaltningsfællesskabet Sydlige Saaletal.
Seitenroda ligger cirka 2 km øst for Kahla og østligt bag Leuchtenburg. Den konstant stigende og svingende L1062 fører forbi borgen og direkte gennem byen mod øst til Eineborn med forbindelse til motorvej A9 ved Hermsdorf. Den kuperede matrikel for landsbyen omfatter 405 ha. Muschelkalk- og Buntsteinforvitrede jorde dominerer. Bortset fra dalområderne er disse arealer grundvandsfattige. Bakkerne og de stejlere skråninger er skovklædte og forsynet med veje.
