Wachsenburggemeinde var en kommune i det nordvestlige Ilm-kredsløb i Thüringen, beliggende omkring 20 km sydvest for delstatshovedstaden Erfurt. Den eksisterede fra 1994 til 2012.
Området for den tidligere Wachsenburggemeinde ligger ved overgangen fra den midterste Thüringer Skov til Thüringer Bassinet ved sydkanten af Ohrdrufer Platten. Det krydses fra vest mod øst af to højderygge i Eichenberg–Gotha–Saalfelder brudzone, hvis dannelse har ført til interessante geologiske fænomener, som kan observeres f.eks. ved saltkilden ved Sülzenbrücken samt ved stenbruddet i Haarhausen.
