Centrum i byen Zossen ligger cirka 20 km syd for Berlins bygrænse ved B 96. Byområdet dækker i alt 17.957 ha og grænser mod nord til Rangsdorf kommune, mod nordøst og øst til byen Mittenwalde, mod sydøst til Schenkenländchen kontoret, mod syd til byen Baruth/Mark, mod sydvest til Am Mellensee kommunen, mod vest til byen Trebbin og mod nordvest til byen Ludwigsfelde. Bydelen Zossen har 2.859 ha.
Nottekanalen løber gennem byområdet. Den tidligere borg, det nuværende slot Zossen, lå på en talsandø mellem to arme af Notte; den sydlige arm er tilgroet og delvist fyldt ud.
