Hahn blev første gang nævnt skriftligt i 1261. Hahn tilhørte Klosteret Kornelimünster, og der var et Mariakapel. I den franske tid blev Hahn en del af Departement de la Roër. I 1804 blev Hahn en selvstændig sognekommune, og i 1816 blev Hahn preussisk og blev en del af kommunen Walheim, som i 1972 blev en del af den fusionerede kommune Aachen.
