Burscheid er en lille by i Rheinisch-Bergischen Kreis i Nordrhein-Westfalen med omkring 19.000 indbyggere. Byen er præget af mange mindre lokalsamfund og sit bycentrum med torv og kirke. Burscheid blev første gang nævnt dokumenteret i 1175. Den 18. august 1856 fik den daværende landkommune byrettigheder tildelt af kong Friedrich Wilhelm IV. af Preussen.
