Selz er en 61 km lang, sydlig og venstre biflod til Rhinen og et af hovedvandløbene i Rheinhessen. Den flyder i det Rheinhessiske Tafel- og Hügelland i Rheinland-Pfalz gennem den pfalziske Donnersbergkreis samt de rheinhessiske amter Alzey-Worms og Mainz-Bingen.
Med en afstrømning på kun 2 l/s tilhører oplandet til Selz, som flyder i læ af Nordpfalz-bjerget, de vandfattigste i Tyskland. Dens gennemsnitlige afstrømning er 0,77 m³/s med en udsvingbredde fra 0,3 til 20 m³/s.
