Alma Mater Ernestina i Rinteln i Weserbergland var et universitet, der blev grundlagt i 1619, og som eksisterede indtil 1810.
Oprindelsen til universitetet i Rinteln blev dannet af det akademiske gymnasium illustre, som blev grundlagt i 1610 af grev Ernst til Holstein-Schaumburg i Stadthagen i det tidligere franciskanske kloster, baseret på en latinsk byskole, der har eksisteret siden 1330, og som allerede havde fire fakulteter og et fuldt akademisk undervisningsforløb. For at blive anerkendt som et fuldgyldigt universitet manglede der stadig det kejserlige privilegium, der gav ret til at promovere.
