Den udvidede landsby ligger nord for Stausee Quitzdorf ved den sorte Schöps, cirka syv kilometer vest for den tidligere amtshovedstad Niesky. Nordvest for stedet ligger biosfærereservatet Oberlausitzer Heide- og Teichlandschaft, der strækker sig næsten op til Groß Särchen.
Omgivende landsbyer er Petershain i nord, landsbyen See i nordøst og byen Niesky i øst, Jänkendorf sydøst og Diehsa sydligt på den anden side af Stausee, Kollm og Steinölsa i sydvest samt Horscha i nordvest.
