Mineneleonore ved foden af Dünsberg i Biebertal var en af de mest betydningsfulde miner der. Man udvandt manganholdig bruneisenstein.
Den 2. maj 1856 blev minen Eleonore i mark VI i Fellingshausen tildelt den i Gießen uddannede jernhandler fra Frankfurt, J.M. Bastert. Navngivningen kan have sin oprindelse i Basterts ældste datter, Eleonore Elisabethe.
