Tecklenburg er en by i de vestlige udkanten af Teutoburger Wald (også kaldet Tecklenburger Land ) og ligger på en højslette. I 1388 fik den byrettigheder. Den har en interessant middelalderlig bykerne med mange bindingsværkshuse. Derudover er der en borgruin med et friluftsteater. Lidt uden for centrum ligger Bismarcktårnet, hvorfra man har en smuk udsigt over omgivelserne.
