Carpentras er en sydfransk, provensalsk kommune med 29.236 indbyggere i departementet Vaucluse i regionen Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. Det er sæde for arrondissementet Carpentras og kantonen Carpentras. Fra slutningen af det 6. århundrede til 1801 var Carpentras sæde for et bispedømme af samme navn, som fra det 7. århundrede til cirka det 11. århundrede tidvis lå i Venasque.
