Chester er en katedralby og amtsbyen i Cheshire, England. Den er beliggende ved floden Dee, tæt på den engelsk-walesiske grænse. Med en befolkning på 79.645 i 2011 er det den mest folkerige bosættelse i Cheshire West og Chester og fungerer som dens administrative hovedkvarter. Det er også den historiske amtsby i Cheshire og den næststørste bosættelse i Cheshire efter Warrington.
