Kuldefeltet i Forest of Dean, der ligger under Forest of Dean i det vestlige Gloucestershire, er et af de mindre kulfelter i de britiske øer, selvom intensiv minedrift i det 19. og 20. århundrede har haft enorm indflydelse på landskabet, historien, kulturen og økonomien i området.
I hundredvis af år har minedrift i kuldefeltet i Forest of Dean været reguleret gennem et system af fri minedrift, hvor enkeltpersoner, der kvalificerer sig, får tildelt lejeaftaler til at udvinde bestemte områder, kendt som gales. Kulindustrinasjonaliseringsloven fra 1946 undtog Forest of Dean på grund af sin unikke ejerform og historie, hvilket tillod den unikke privilegium at fortsætte intakt.
