Leadhills jernbanestation blev åbnet den 1. oktober 1901 som mellemlanding på Leadhills og Wanlockhead Light Railway og betjente blyminingområdet, gårdene og landsbyen Leadhills cirka 5,5 miles WSW for Elvanfoot jernbanestation i South Lanarkshire indtil den 2. januar 1939 for passagerer og gods. Indtil Wanlockhead station blev åbnet, var Leadhills den højest beliggende standard målestation i Det Forenede Kongerige.
