La Thuile ligger i Alperne i den ekstreme nordvest del af landet, tæt på den franske alpine by La Rosière. Byen krydses af vejen, der går fra Pré-Saint-Didier i nordvest op til Little St Bernard-passet i sydøst, som forbinder Italien med Bourg-Saint-Maurice og Isère-dalen i Frankrig.
