Havnen i Genova er en af de mest betydningsfulde havne i Italien, i konkurrence med havnene i Marseille og Barcelona i Middelhavet. Med en handelsmængde på 51,6 millioner ton er det den travleste havn i Italien efter havnen i Trieste målt i laste tonnage.
Havnen blev bemærkelsesværdigt brugt til afmontering af Costa Concordia efter katastrofen med Costa Concordia.
