Naas liegt auf einer Höhe von 400 m bis 1270 m ü. A. und hat eine Gesamtfläche von 20,84 km². Der höchste Berg in der Umgebung ist der Patscha , weitere Berge sind der Hirschkogel , und der Gösser .Der Fund eines Hammerbeils aus Serpentin von 2500 vor unserer Zeitrechnung zeigt, wie früh das Gebiet schon besiedelt war. Bei Sturmberg und beim Weizklamm wurden Tongefäße, Bronzemünzen, Fischangeln und -stecher aus der Römerzeit gefunden.
