Der enorme Triumphbogen kündigt Ihre Ankunft im Jubelpark schon von weitem an. Der Park wurde 1880 zur Feier des fünfzigsten Jubiläums Belgiens angelegt. Zu dieser Zeit gab es nur einen bescheidenen Bogen. Der aktuelle Bau wurde erst 1905 aufgrund von Geldmangel fertiggestellt. König Leopold II. finanzierte ihn mit Gewinnen aus seiner privaten Kolonie, dem Kongo-Freistaat.
Der Park war Schauplatz der Weltausstellungen 1888 und 1897. Der Gebäudekomplex beherbergt heute eine ganze Reihe von Museen und kulturellen Institutionen. Unter anderem das Militärmuseum, dessen Höhepunkte das Fahrrad von Leopold II. sind. Dennoch bleibt das Auto in dieser grünen, radfreundlichen Zone König, mit Autoworld, einem Museum, das dem Auto gewidmet ist, einem großen Parkplatz im Freien und dem Rumpeln der Autobahn unter dem Park.
