Bildhauer Valeer Peirsman schuf die Bildgruppe im Auftrag von Tourismus Temse und der Gemeindeverwaltung. Drei der vier Figuren basieren auf authentischen Kaailäufern: den Bruine (Alfons Gosselin), ganz links; de Mekker (Désiré Aelbrecht), der zweite von links; und die Schele Wringer (Frans Vervynckt), ganz rechts. Der vierte Kaailäufer, der zweite von rechts, steht symbolisch für alle Kaailäufer. Das Denkmal bietet Touristen die Möglichkeit, sich in dieser Gesellschaft fotografieren zu lassen. Die Bildgruppe wurde offiziell am 25. Mai 1991 eingeweiht.
