Waasten ist ein Dorf in der belgischen Provinz Hennegau und seit 1977 ein Stadtteil und Einrichtungsgemeinde der Stadt Komen-Waasten. Bei der Festlegung der Sprachgrenze im Jahr 1963 wurde Waasten als französischsprachig mit Sprachdiensten für die niederländischsprachige Minderheit eingestuft, wodurch die noch eigenständige Gemeinde der Provinz Westflandern nach Hennegau übertragen wurde. Im Jahr 1977 ging Waasten in der Fusionsgemeinde Komen-Waasten auf.
