Dieses bemerkenswerte Phänomen wurde mehrfach untersucht und in dem fantastischen Buch "Schaal" von Geoffrey West, 2017, beschrieben. Die Grafik zeigt, dass es nahezu eine starke Korrelation zwischen der Größe von Stadtteilen und der durchschnittlichen Geschwindigkeit gibt, mit der Fußgänger ungehindert gehen.
