Bei „Cluster“ handelt es sich um eine monumentale Videoinstallation auf mehreren Bildschirmen. Mysteriöser weißer Rauch scheint beinahe vor dem schwarzen Hintergrund zu tanzen.
Das Phänomen scheint natürlich zu sein, doch der Schein trügt: was wir hier sehen, ist das Ergebnis einer Rauchbombe.
Gamsjäger Rainer (AUT, 1974) arbeitet mit Computern, lässt sich jedoch oft von der Natur inspirieren. Sein Werk umfasst eine Serie über Naturphänomene. „Cluster“ ist der Epilog dieser Serie. Der Künstler setzt eine selbst programmierte Software ein, um digitale Strukturen zu bearbeiten.
