Die Prämonstratenser kamen 1128 hierher und bauten im 13. Jahrhundert eine Abteianlage im gotischen Stil, von der das Kloster, die Küche und der Kapitelsaal bis heute erhalten geblieben sind.
1568 brannte die Abtei ab und wurde Anfang des 17. Jahrhunderts wieder aufgebaut.
Die Wirren der Revolution wirkten sich nicht auf die Gebäude aus, die noch aus dem Eingangsvorbau aus dem 17. Jahrhundert, dem Besucherbereich, den Flügeln des Ehrenhofs, der Wärmestube, dem Refektorium und der Kirche bestehen, in der die Statue Unserer Lieben Frau zur Guten Hoffnung (Notre-Dame de Bonne-Espérance) aus dem 14. Jahrhundert verehrt wird.
1829 wandelte das Seminar von Tournai die Anlage in eine Bildungseinrichtung um.
