Einst war die Bortiergalerie in Brüssel ein Bücher-Mekka, jetzt zieht sie hungrige Touristen an. Seit 1848 beherbergte das überdachte Gebäude, errichtet im neo-renaissance Stil mit bordeauxroten Fassaden, Holzelementen und einem gewellten Glasdach, eine Handvoll Buchhändler. Die Galerie wurde von Jean-Pierre Cluysenaar entworfen, der auch der Architekt der Sankt-Hubertus-Galerien in der Innenstadt ist.
Die Bortiergalerie in Brüssel war mehr als 150 Jahre lang eine feste Größe in der Welt der antiken Bücher, bis die Stadt Brüssel beschloss, daraus einen hippen 'Foodspot' zu machen.
