An dieser Stelle wurde 1932 ein neuer Bahnhof Mortsel-Oude-God in Betrieb genommen. Allerdings wurde aufgrund lautstarker Proteste von Zugreisenden und Händlern der nahegelegenen Statielei 1936 entlang der Bahnlinie 25 der Bahnhof Mortsel-Oude-God gebaut. Der Name des Bahnhofs an Linie 27 wurde in Mortsel-Liersesteenweg geändert. Obwohl der Bahnhof 1939 geschlossen wurde, hat er während Umleitungen bei Arbeiten am Gleis weiterhin regelmäßig gedient.
