An der Quelle dieses imposanten Commonwealth-Friedhofs liegt das britische Kriegshospital, das 1944 - 1945 im Heilig-Herz-Institut untergebracht war. Die 50 Personen, die dort an ihren Verletzungen starben, wurden ursprünglich auf dem Gelände des Instituts beigesetzt. 1946 wurde der Friedhof an den heutigen Ort verlegt. Insgesamt sind hier mittlerweile 1018 Soldaten begraben, von denen 981 identifiziert sind. Es handelt sich um Opfer von Bodenoperationen und um Luftbesatzungen, die rund um Leuven gefallen sind. Hier gibt es auch 29 Gräber aus dem Ersten Weltkrieg, die von anderen Friedhöfen übertragen wurden.
