Description

Ehemalige Zisterzienserabtei „Maegdendael“. Gegründet 1219; zu ihrer Blütezeit umfasste sie eine Kirche, einen Gäste- und Fremdenbereich, ein geräumiges Abteigebäude, klösterliche Gebäude und Nebengebäude, darunter eine Brauerei am Gete. 1755 wurde ein großer Teil der Gebäude zerstört, aber teilweise wieder aufgebaut.
