Die Wallonische Region , auch Wallonie und Wallonien , ist eine der drei Regionen des Königreichs Belgien und somit ein Gliedstaat des belgischen Bundesstaates. Die Bevölkerung ist überwiegend muttersprachlich Französisch, im äußersten Osten Deutsch. Die Hauptstadt ist Namur. Nach Einwohnern größte Stadt ist nach Kommunalreformen in der Nachkriegszeit Charleroi. Das kulturelle und wirtschaftliche Zentrum ist die zweitgrößte Stadt Lüttich , die auch Zentrum der größten Agglomeration ist. Weitere wichtige Städte sind Mons, Tournai, Arlon, Bastogne, Wavre, Verviers, Dinant und die ehemals preußischen Städte Eupen und Malmedy im heutigen Ostbelgien. Geographisch umfasst die Wallonie die südliche Hälfte Belgiens.
