Die Mechelse Heide und das Tal der Ziepbeek sind ein Natura 2000-Gebiet in Flandern. Dieses Gebiet erstreckt sich von Dilsen-Stokkem bis Lanaken, parallel zum Maas-Tal. Es ist Teil des Nationalparks Hoge Kempen: 3741 ha des Parks sind als europäische spezielle Schutzzone ausgewiesen. Dieses Gebiet besteht eigentlich aus einer Ansammlung von Natur- und Waldreservaten sowie Domänenwäldern. Die Landschaft wird von weitläufigen Heideflächen dominiert, umgeben von dichten Wäldern. In den Buchten des Steilrandes entspringen kleine Bäche, flankiert von nassen Heiden.
