Die unmittelbare Umgebung des Schlosses besteht aus einem Schlosspark mit Rasenflächen, Parkbäumen und anschließend einem weitläufigen Schlosswald. Der Landschaftspark im englischen Stil stammt aus dem 19. Jahrhundert. Inspiriert von der Romantik integrierte der Adel Wasserflächen, Wiesen und Bäume in das Design. Man experimentierte auch mit der Anlage künstlicher Hügel, Pavillons und Grotten. Im Schlosspark von Heers findet man noch eine Ruine einer solchen Grotte. Doch die Blickfänger sind die imposanten Buchen und Platane. Das Schloss selbst befindet sich in einem schlechten Zustand. Heute wird mit vielen Partnern an einer neuen Zukunft für diesen beeindruckenden Ort voller Geschichte gearbeitet.
