Uster ist eine politische Gemeinde und Hauptort des gleichnamigen Bezirks im Schweizer Kanton Zürich. Die Bedeutung der Stadt Uster ist mit dem Bau des S-Bahn-Netzes des Zürcher Verkehrsverbunds stark gewachsen. Mit über 35 000 Einwohnern ist sie die drittgrösste Stadt im Kanton.
Uster liegt im Zürcher Oberland und ist mit 28,56 km² die grösste Gemeinde im Bezirk Uster, sowie achtgrösste des Kantons Zürich. Die Gemeinde liegt östlich des Greifensees, 13 Kilometer entfernt von Zürich.
